I've built several 7.3 engines. They didn't get 500 thousand miles. Closer to 350 thousand miles. Rebuild is about $2,500 depending on where you buy parts and doing it yourself. Manual transmission ZF5 is simple to Rebuild. Finding the rear seal was a pain. 04/26/2026 08:29:31 AM
I can show countless 7.3 diesels that have went well over 500k miles here is link to one that went over 850k miles before needing a rebuild.
