1994 Aerial Ladder Fire Truck -Must be towed off the lot

Used ladder truck, identified as Tower 14, being sold due to age, mechanical concerns, operational limitations, and the anticipated cost of repairs needed to return it to dependable emergency service condition.

Known Mechanical, Operational, and Safety Concerns

The following issues are known to the department and are being disclosed as part of the sale.

1. Hydraulic Lift Cylinders Leaking -responsible for raising, lowering, and supporting the aerial ladder during operation. Hydraulic leaks may reduce lifting performance, create maintenance concerns, and present potential safety hazards if the apparatus is used without repair.

2. Outrigger Cylinders Leaking -critical safety system because they stabilize the truck during aerial ladder operations. Leaking outrigger cylinders may affect safe operation and would likely require repair before the aerial device could be considered reliable for service.

3. Engine Requires Ether to Start -Requires the use of ether or starting fluid. This may indicate underlying mechanical, fuel system, or engine-related issues.

4. Failed Pump Performance Test -Did not meet the required performance standards for rated water flow and/or pressure. The pump should not be considered certified or dependable for emergency fire service unless repaired, tested, and approved by a qualified service provider.

5. No Recent Aerial Ladder Test Records -No recent documentation showing that the aerial ladder has passed annual aerial testing. Annual aerial inspections and testing are recognized industry standards for verifying that the aerial device is structurally sound and safe to operate.

General Condition

The truck is an older fire apparatus with visible wear from service use. The exterior body, compartments, pump panel, wheels, outriggers, aerial ladder, and platform are shown in the attached photographs. The apparatus has cosmetic wear, age-related deterioration, and mechanical issues as described above.

The truck may be suitable for parts, repair, restoration, training, private use, or non-emergency use, depending on the buyer’s intended purpose. It should not be assumed to be ready for emergency response or aerial operations without inspection and repair.

The buyer is responsible for all diagnostics, inspections, repairs, certifications, testing, transportation, loading, removal, title transfer, and any costs associated with placing the apparatus back into service or transporting it from its current location.
