This auction is for a RECOVER Latent Fingerprint Technology System, manufactured by Foster + Freeman — a world leader in forensic science instrumentation.
The RECOVER system is a vacuum metal deposition (VMD) platform specifically engineered for the development and recovery of latent fingerprints from challenging surfaces, including fired cartridge cases and other metallic substrates. It is widely used in forensic and military applications where conventional fingerprint methods fall short.
This unit was only used for initial testing and demonstration and has seen no operational casework use. It remains in fully operational condition and is ready for deployment in a laboratory or forensic setting.
Included with the unit are extensive original consumables and reagents valued at over $80,000, making this a rare, complete turnkey package.

Removal

The buyer is responsible for all aspects of pick-up / removal, including but not limited to packing, loading, transportation, and exporting. Note: Shipping is available at the buyer’s expense.
The seller will actively assist with shipping coordination. This includes working directly with the buyer or the buyer’s chosen freight company to schedule pickup, preparing the item for release, and assisting with loading during regular business hours. Buyer must arrange and pay for shipping, and provide a Bill of Lading prior to release.
Removal is by appointment only. All items must be picked up or scheduled for shipping within 10 (ten) business days from auction closure, unless otherwise stated in the asset description. If any item(s) are not removed or scheduled within the allotted timeframe, the item(s) may be declared abandoned.
At the time of pick-up / removal, you will be required to present the seller with a copy of your Buyer’s Certificate and/or bill of sale, and potentially other documentation (e.g., copy of driver’s license, Authorization of Release, etc). When making a removal appointment, please confirm with the seller what is needed to release the item(s).
