Purchased new in 2020 and used by our water utility for field operations. The truck developed an engine rattle and excessive oil consumption, issues that Ford advised were documented on certain 5.0L V8 and 3.5L EcoBoost engines. AutoNation Ford in Mobile, Alabama, performed a Ford TSB repair that included PCM reprogramming and installation of an updated dipstick. The condition improved briefly but returned within approximately two weeks. Ford advised that engine replacement would be the next repair option, with an estimate of $12,516.56 before tax.
