Operating Capacity and Constraints
The machine's capacity is dependent on its configuration and the material being used:
Standard Rating: Capacity is rated based on a 1-inch flange or wider on mild steel.
Capacity Reductions: Removing the reinforcing angle bar (S or SS) reduces the bending capacity by four gauges.
Thin Leaf Adjustments: If the bending leaf edge is reduced to a 1/4-inch thickness for tighter bends, the capacity is reduced by seven gauges.
Reverse Bends: Capable of making minimum reverse bends of 1/4-inch.
George Fox University
Key Features
Sectioned Fingers: Includes removable, sectioned fingers that allow for bending different lengths of metal and creating complex box shapes.
Adjustable Linkage: Features an adjustable link to clamp various gauges of metal within its rated capacity.
Truss-Rod Construction: Uses heavy truss rods and braces designed for maximum strength and permanent alignment during heavy use.
Independent Clamping: On models longer than 4 feet, each end clamps independently, though the 3-foot BP 314 6 focuses on direct, easy manual operation.
