PAYMENT FOR VEHICLE IS REQUIRED WITHIN FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS OF CLOSE OF AUCTION. PLEASE ENSURE TIMELY PAYMENT TO AVOID ANY DISRUPTION TO YOUR GOVDEALS ACCOUNT ACCESS.

* All vehicle(s) MUST be towed off CATA property at purchaser’s risk and expense.

* Payment must be made within five (5) business days of close of auction. Removal must be made within ten (10) business days of close of auction. No exceptions!!!

*Vehicle taken out of service on August 26, 2025.

* Engine ran and started when taken out of service.

* The vehicle(s) are to be sold in “as is” and “where is” condition. No warranties or guarantees.

* Bidders are strongly encouraged to come and inspect the vehicle by scheduled appointment. Appointments may be scheduled between 9:00am and 3:00 pm EST, by contacting purchasing@cata.org.

* Engine/Transmission may need repair.

* Tires may not be legal tread depth.

* Scratches, Rust, Scrapes, Dents & Dings and Stone Chips may be found.

* All decals (have been removed but impressions may remain), fareboxes, registration, tags, insurance and clever device equipment, if any, have been removed.

* Any CATA owned accessories/equipment has been removed; such as safety equipment, 2-way radios, etc.

* Some parts may have been removed. We do not have a list of parts removed; you will have to inspect the vehicle if you want to verify what is missing.

* No Seller’s inspection report has been prepared, nor will any maintenance records be furnished.

* Seller will not arrange shipping!

* All vehicle(s) MUST be towed off CATA property at purchaser’s risk and expense. There will be NO loading assistance provided upon pick up of the vehicle(s). Winning bidder is solely responsible for bringing the proper equipment, tools and personnel for removal, loading and transportation.

* Title: The title will be made out and given to the buyer as indicated on the Buyer's Certificate when the buyer picks up the vehicle.

* The buyer must present a valid I.D. prior to removal of the property and a copy of the buyer’s certificate. Transporters or other agents of the buyer must present a copy of the buyer’s certificate and a completed Govdeals authorization of release form signed by the buyer. The bill of sale form must also be countersigned by buyer or buyer’s authorized agent prior to removal.

* Failure to inspect property shall not constitute grounds for a claim (full or partial refund).

Inspection

Most items offered for sale are used and may contain defects not immediately detectable. Bidders may inspect the property prior to bidding. Inspection is by appointment only. Please use the 'Ask a Question' feature to schedule an appointment for Inspection.

Payment

If you are the winning bidder, you will facilitate payment by referring to the My Bids section of your account.

Note:

1. Payment is due within 5 (five) business days of auction closure.

2. Any invoice $5,000 or above requires payment via wire transfer.

SALES TAX

When applicable, sales tax is calculated based upon the auction’s advertised location.

Removal

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of the close of the auction.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. Bidders will be locked unless a prior arrangement has been made for any item not removed within the ten (10) business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.

Capital Area Transportation Authority, MI makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. Please note that upon removal of the property, all sales are final.

Description Warranty. Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
