The auction end date of 1/5/2026 is accurate. Galveston County prefers to launch vehicle auctions for at least 2 weeks, with a preference of 3 weeks, to garner interest, allow for customer visitation & inspection, and possibly provide time for cross-platform promotion amongst the GovDeals family of websites. But, that would land the auction ending just before the Christmas to New Year's Eve window when staffing is usually at its lightest. It is in this window when scheduling problems from all sides (county staff, customers travelling on vacation, parcel delivery services, transport companies) can snowball into missed deadlines and people making plans that cannot be fulfilled. Payment
Payment in full is due not later than 5 business days from the time and date of the Buyer’s Certificate. Payment may be hand delivered or mailed to 722 MOODY, 5th FLOOR, PURCHASING DEPARTMENT, Galveston, Texas 77550 prior to picking up the item. Acceptable forms of payment are: U. S. Currency 100 dollars or less, Certified Cashier’s Check, Money Order, or a Company Check (with Bank Letter guaranteeing funds – mandatory). Checks shall be made payable to: Galveston County.
Removal
ALL items must be removed within 10 business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer's Certificate. Purchases will be released only upon receipt of payment as specified. The buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Under no circumstances will Seller assume responsibility for packing, loading or shipping.
