2005 Chevrolet Express CARGO VAN, 4.3L V6 OHV 12V.

The City of Aberdeen WA (PD) is selling a 2005 Chevrolet Express van. The van was purchased/acquired from the Federal Government (believed to be the United States Air Force) in 2015 with 36,500 miles.

The jail was used by APD Corrections for transport of inmates to and from local and regional jail facilities, from the APD jail to medical appointments for inmates and from large arrest incidents such as search warrants.

The inside of the jail van benches and cages were done by a local metal fabrication shop professionally approximately 11 years ago. These are not a built-in corrections vehicle kit. There is lining in the interior that allows it to be hosed out.

The mileage is true to the last time it was driven when it was parked in a storage facility. The van has the normal wear and tear one would expect from a Corrections van. There are dings and dents from being kicked and or headbutted in spots on the exterior. The check engine light comes on and off occasionally.

It is unknown what all needs to be done but at least there are issues with the check engine light coming on and going off while operating. It should be noted that occasionally when operating there is reduced engine power while driving.

The department has replaced the Corrections van due to the age, reliability and the availability of a more modern transport system. Maintenance records are available for review if needed. Overall, the van has been a reliable vehicle for the department. Again, being replaced due to age/availability of a more modern transporting system.
