2017 Cat D5K2 Dozer

This machine was purchased new by the City and has been used in the Street Department. It currently has 1,509 operating hours.

The machine was in service until October 2025, when it abruptly shut down while operating. Diagnostic codes indicated low charge pressure and speed sensor faults. The Caterpillar dealer was contacted and, upon inspection, found metal debris in the charge filter.

Further evaluation determined that the failure was caused by a broken hydrostatic pump main shaft. As a result, the entire hydraulic system requires flushing and cleaning.

Certain components were removed by the Caterpillar dealer during inspection and will be included with the machine, packaged separately in a box.
