Offered for auction is the Mary Lynn, a 1962 motor yacht built by the renowned John Trumpy & Sons, Inc. of Annapolis, Maryland. Acquired in 1987.
Powered by twin 8V71 Detroit Diesel engines, both units start without issue (engine meters on these were added at a later date and do not reflect the current hour meter reading for the motors). The onboard generator is an Onan Marine GenSet (Model KAF-5601488) with 3,164 hours of operation (see attached photo). Main engines are on a 32VDC system and the generator, electronics and other DC accessories are on a 12VDC system.
This yacht is a significant piece of Chesapeake Bay maritime history, crafted by one of the region’s most esteemed wooden hull designers. According to U.S. Coast Guard records, the vessel measures 65.9 feet in length, 16.0 feet in breadth, and 7.9 feet in depth, with a gross tonnage of 65 tons. Her official hull number is 288049.
There are three births, two heads and showers in the passenger area in addition to a crew birth, captains birth and crew head/shower located forward in the vessel.
The Mary Lynn is being sold strictly “as is, where is.”
