Up for auction we have an Advanced Instruments A20 Automated Osmometer. The Advanced Instruments A20 is an advanced, automated osmometer, correctly designated as the A2O. An osmometer is a laboratory instrument that measures the osmolality of a solution, which is its total concentration of dissolved particles. The A2O determines osmolality using the industry-preferred method of freezing-point depression. It was engineered for high-throughput labs to automate testing and reduce human error.
Key Features & Capabilities
Touch-screen interface: The menu-driven, multi-language software and touch-screen display provide an intuitive user experience.
Direct sampling: The system samples directly from the primary sample tube, which minimizes the technician's manual liquid handling and the risk of error.
Intelligent liquid handling: The A2O features an intelligent liquid handling system with a self-cleaning pipette, liquid-level sensing, and crash detection to minimize sample carryover and cross-contamination.
Multi-sample capacity: An automated 20-position carousel can accommodate a variety of sample tubes and low-volume cups, allowing for walkaway operation.
Bar-code identification: An integrated bar-code scanner provides positive sample identification and eliminates transcription errors.
STAT sample capability: This feature allows a test sequence to be interrupted to run an emergency sample without disrupting the workflow.
Flexible data management: Connectivity options include Ethernet and USB ports for enhanced data transfer and compatibility with laboratory information systems (LIS).
High performance: The A2O delivers fast and accurate results. For example, it can process 20 samples in less than an hour.
Applications: The A2O is suited for clinical, biopharmaceutical, and food & beverage laboratories. Its predecessor models are widely used for analyzing serum, urine, and other biological fluids.
This Machine was powered ON. No further testing with the Machine has been completed. The Machine does come with a power cored. Item may have cosmetic wear such as scratches, scuffs, labels, and stickers. Please reference included photos for more details. Item is being sold AS IS.

Removal
Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. After paying for your auction you can make your make your appointment by going to our bidder porthole and registering with our system. You will then have access to our calendar where you can make your appointment, Hours of pickup are Monday-Friday 8am to 3pm. (close for lunch from 12pm to 12:30pm) We are closed on all University Holidays.
Items will not be released if buyer fails to make an appointment.
All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer's Certificate.
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Pallets or containers that items are on or in are not included. No Assistance will be provided. Any item left after the 10 day limit will be relisted, buyers will be subject to GovDeals policies.
Purchaser is solely responsible for the loading and transportation.
The University disclaims all liability for injury or property damage associated with this purchase.
The University of Iowa Surplus Department does not provide or prepare items for shipping (except for certain clothing items) however there are local companies that will prepare and ship items from our location.
If items are shipped at your request by paying for the shipping you are agreeing that assets are sold as is, where is and without warranty. Once the asset is removed from the seller's premises there is no refund of monies previously paid.
If you are contracting with a freight company,
DO NOT LIST UI SURPLUS AS THE SHIPPER.
You must list yourself (the buyer) as the shipper (we would be considered the destination).
Any bill of ladings with The University of Iowa or our staff members as the shipper will be denied. ALL T-FORCE SHIPMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE BE SCHDULED THROUGH THE LOCAL UPS STORE OR WILL BE DENIED
