Up for auction we have a Nicolet Nexus 670 FT-IR esp Spectroscopy System with Power Cord. The Nicolet Nexus 670 FT-IR esp Spectroscopy System is a high-performance, research-grade Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer produced by Thermo Nicolet. Unlike the entry-level Avatar series, the Nexus 670 was a highly configurable and flexible instrument designed for advanced and specialized applications, particularly in university research and industrial R&D labs.
Key Features and Capabilities
High resolution: The Nexus 670 offers higher spectral resolution compared to standard FT-IR benches. While a typical resolution with a KBr beamsplitter was 4 cm⁻¹, the system could achieve resolution better than 0.8 cm⁻¹, and as low as 0.09 cm⁻¹ depending on the configuration.
Broad spectral range: The system capable of operating across multiple spectral ranges, including mid-IR (the standard), near-IR (NIR), and far-IR (FIR). This versatility was achieved by swapping optical components like beamsplitters and detectors, with the controlling OMNIC software automatically updating the parameters.
Multiple sampling modes: The Nexus 670 is compatible with a wide array of accessories to accommodate various sample types and analyses.
Microscopy: It could be paired with an FT-IR microscope, such as the Continuum, for analyzing microscopic samples or specific areas of larger samples in reflection or transmission mode.
ATR: Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) accessories provided for quick analysis of solids, liquids, and pastes with minimal sample preparation.
Transmission and reflectance: It supported standard transmission analysis using sample cards or cells, as well as various forms of reflectance spectroscopy.
Enhanced performance: For more demanding applications, it could be equipped with different detectors to optimize sensitivity. Options included the standard DTGS detector, a high-sensitivity liquid nitrogen cooled MCT detector, and an InGaAs detector for microscopy.
"esp" designation: The "esp" in the system name referred to the Enhanced Sampling Platform, a feature designed for rapid and easy accessory exchange.
The Spectroscopy System was powered ON. No further testing has been completed.
