Please note: This auction has been set up with "seller approval", which means we will review the highest bid and either accept or decline the offer. Prior to the highest bidder being approved, the bidder must sign a "Hold Harmless Agreement." This agreement is provided below under 'Attachments' for your review.
The winning buyer is also responsible for removing the items from the home with their tools and equipment. Employees of Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority are not permitted to offer assistance with removing items and the sole responsibility of removal is with the buyer.


The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Virginia is offering for sale to the highest bidder the building materials, residential fixtures, and appliances for 5315 high Street W, Portsmouth, Virginia. Please note: the house itself is not being sold, just the materials.

This 3,656 square foot home is being demolished to make room for new construction. Prior to the demolition, the winning bidder will have access to the entire home and contents to remove the items of their choice. Items included in the sale, but not limited to, are:

Payment

PAYMENT

If you are the winning bidder, you will facilitate payment by referring to the My Bids section of your account.

Note:

1. Payment is due within 5 (five) business days of auction closure.

2. Any invoice $5,000 or above requires payment via wire transfer.

SALES TAX

When applicable, sales tax is calculated based upon the auction’s advertised location.

Removal

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within 30 days from the time and date of the close of the auction.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. Bidders will be locked unless a prior arrangement has been made for any item not removed within the 30 days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.

Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, VA makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. Please note that upon removal of the property, all sales are final.

Description Warranty. Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
