Up for auction are the fiberglass crafting molds for sculptures by Hungarian-Canadian sculptor Elek Imredy (1912-1994). The pieces for sale in this lot are 29 molds for storybook characters from twelve different stories. The molds are from scenes such as: Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Bo Peep. See attached PDF for the full list. These are collectible curiosities from Metro Parks Tacoma's Never Never Land attraction. These burlap and plaster molds allowed the creators of the theme park to cast storybook characters from a fiberglass composite. The attraction was privately operated from 1964 - 1985, and was closed for good in 2001.

These molds are part of the "Never Never Land" collection. Never Never Land was a storybook walking trail in Tacoma's Point Defiance Park that first opened in 1964. The attraction ultimately closed in 2001 and the figures removed and later sold. These molds are unique relics of Tacoma's history and remind us of familiar nursery rhymes from Mid-century American childhood.

Dimensions are approximate. These molds have not been appraised. This auction is for the molds only, not the painted storybook figures.

**Please reference the attached document below for a detailed list of the molds that follow these condition descriptions:

Good = molds are complete (front and back halves present) and have held their shape [this does not mean they can be used, however; the material has passed it’s useful life expectancy].
Fair = molds are mostly complete, may be slightly malformed due to storage conditions.
Poor = molds are incomplete, may be missing front or back, and misshapen.
