For Auction is an Olympus BX40F4 Microscope.The Olympus BX40F4 is the formal model designation for the standard Olympus BX40 microscope frame. The "F" typically refers to the "Frame" or "Fixed" nosepiece configuration, and "4" is an internal generation/specifier for the 100–120V/240V power supply series.
It is a legendary "clinical workhorse" microscope, widely considered the foundation of modern pathology and histology labs due to its robust Y-shaped ergonomic frame.
Technical Specifications
Optical System: UIS (Universal Infinity System). It is fully compatible with modern UIS2 objectives.
llumination: 6V, 30W Halogen (Socket: G4). It features a "Photo Preset" button that instantly sets the voltage for ideal color temperature photography.
Field of View: Standard FN 22 (Widefield), though it can support Super Widefield (FN 26.5) with the correct trinocular head.
Nosepiece: Typically a fixed quintuple (5-position) revolving nosepiece. Unlike the later BX41, the nosepiece on the BX40 is not easily interchangeable by the user.
Stage: Ceramic-coated, wear-resistant stage with a low-positioned coaxial drive (left or right-hand options).
