For Auction is an Olympus BX51 Research Grade Microscope. is a highly versatile and ergonomic research-grade upright microscope known for its superior optics, extensive customization options, and durability. It is widely used for various applications, including pathology, fluorescence imaging, phase contrast, and polarized light microscopy.
Features and Capabilities
The Olympus BX51 utilizes the proprietary Universal Infinity System (UIS) optical system for excellent image quality and a wide field of view. It is a modular system that can be configured with a variety of components.
Design: Features an ergonomic Y-shaped body for user comfort, with controls placed within easy reach.
Illumination: Typically includes a powerful 12V 100W quartz halogen lamphouse for transmitted light, with built-in neutral density (ND6, ND25) and daylight blue filters. Fluorescence models also include a mercury or xenon lamp and power supply.
Head: Available in binocular, ergonomic tilting, or trinocular configurations (the latter for camera attachment).
Nosepiece: A revolving nosepiece, typically 5- or 6-position, to hold multiple objective lenses.
Objectives: Compatible with a range of high-quality UPlanFL, Plan N, and Plan Fluorite objectives for various magnifications NO OBJECTIVES INCLUDED
Stage: Features a durable, ceramic-coated mechanical XY stage, with some polarizing models featuring a rotatable stage.
Applications: Highly adaptable to different observation methods, including brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, fluorescence, DIC (Differential Interference Contrast), and polarized light.
The BX51 Microscope has been powered on. No further testing of the Microscope has been completed. The Microscope does not include any objectives. The Microscope comes with a power cord.
