The Thermo Scientific Microm CryoStar NX50 HOPD is a precision-engineered, high-performance cryostat microtome designed primarily for clinical and routine histology laboratories. It is highly regarded by power users for providing exceptional sectioning quality, robust active cooling systems, and advanced ergonomic flexibility.
The "HOPD" Configuration Break Down
The "HOPD" designation represents a fully featured, premium upgrade package built into the base CryoStar NX50 model:
H (Height Adjustment): A motorized feature allowing the operator to adjust the work area height from 82 cm to 112 cm (32" to 44"). This enables comfortable use during extended cutting sessions while standing or sitting.
O (Specimen Cooling): Dedicated active cooling directly at the specimen object head.
P (Peltier Cooling): A fast-freeze Peltier cooling station on the cryobar to quickly reduce sample preparation times and minimize tissue freezing artifacts.
D (Cold Disinfection): An automated secondary sanitation feature (Cold D) that distributes a sanitizing mist throughout the cryochamber to fully decontaminate it within 50 minutes.

The Thermo Scientific Microm CryoStar NX50 HOPD has been powered on. The CryoStar was plugged in and kept up a cool constant temperature. The department we received the CryoStar from said it was working properly. The CryoStar has not been tested further. The CryoStar is equipped with wheels and rolls properly. The CryoStar may show signs of cosmetic wear such as scuffs and sticker labels. The CryoStar comes with everything that has been documented within the included photos and nothing more. Please reference the included photos and CryoStar model number for more information. The Thermo Scientific Microm CryoStar NX50 HOPD is being sold AS IS.

Removal
Items will not be released if buyer fails to make an appointment.
All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer's Certificate.
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Pallets or containers that items are on or in are not included. No Assistance will be provided. Any item left after the 10 day limit will be relisted, buyers will be subject to GovDeals policies.
Purchaser is solely responsible for the loading and transportation.
The University disclaims all liability for injury or property damage associated with this purchase.
The University of Iowa Surplus Department does not provide or prepare items for shipping (except for certain clothing items) however there are local companies that will prepare and ship items from our location.
If items are shipped at your request by paying for the shipping you are agreeing that assets are sold as is, where is and without warranty. Once the asset is removed from the seller's premises there is no refund of monies previously paid.
If you are contracting with a freight company,
DO NOT LIST UI SURPLUS AS THE SHIPPER.
You must list yourself (the buyer) as the shipper (we would be considered the destination).
Any bill of ladings with The University of Iowa or our staff members as the shipper will be denied. ALL T-FORCE SHIPMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE BE SCHDULED THROUGH THE LOCAL UPS STORE OR WILL BE DENIED
