The kiln features the Skutt KilnMaster automatic controller with a digital keypad for programming ramps, holds, cone firings, modes (Fast/Med/Slow), delay, alarm, and more. It includes a pyrometric cone-based firing option alongside ramp/hold programming.
Condition: Sold strictly AS-IS, where-is. This is an older unit that has been in storage/use and shows signs of age, including:
Exterior wear, rust/patina on metal sections, some dents/dings, and cosmetic scratches.
Refractory brick lining appears worn/cracked in places (typical for used kilns; inspect interior closely).
Insulation/fiber visible in some areas.
Some components like the red hopper/box on top, hoses, and lid elements show weathering or possible damage.
The kiln lid and sections are sectional/top-loading design with clamps/latches.
Attached is what appears to be a separate mixer or pug mill unit (Robernient model something, 1/2 HP, stainless steel bowl) mounted or associated on top—unclear if integrated or separate; included as seen.
We do not know the full operational status. It powers on (controller display works based on photos), but we have not tested firing cycles, elements, relays, thermocouples, or full functionality. It may need:
Element replacement or testing.
Brick repairs or kiln wash.
Wiring checks.
Controller calibration or parts.
General cleanup/parts sourcing.
No warranty, guarantees, or refunds. Buyer is responsible for inspection (local pickup only in Graham, NC area), loading, transport (heavy/large item—forklift or team recommended), electrical hookup (requires proper 240V 1-phase hardwired installation per local codes), and any repairs. Comes with what is shown in photos; no additional shelves, posts, stilts, or accessories unless visible.
Great project for someone handy with kilns, a school, studio, or repair/resale opportunity. These Skutt production kilns are known as reliable workhorses when maintained.
