This lot is for one Streckeisen Seismic Instrumentation Seismometer, Model Type STS-2.
The item has been marked in poor condition, as noted by the prior user. While its full operational status is unknown, it is being offered in its present state and may be best suited for parts, repair, or as a collectible for those interested in vintage seismic equipment.
The seismometer features three adjustable-length feet for stable placement. Based on available information, this model was originally manufactured between 1971–1975. However, it is believed—though not confirmed—that this particular unit may be the low-powered version produced around 1995.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of professional seismic instrumentation from a highly regarded manufacturer, whether for restoration, parts, or academic/collector interest.
