Buyers should be aware that transportation costs for these trailers is quite expensive. Some buyers have reported costs exceeding $10,000.00 per unit.
Wooden steps/ramps (if pictured) and skirting are included with trailer. All metal steps and ramps remain the property of the District. For those listed with no title, we can apply for a replacement title, if a VIN number is found under the skirting.
A $500 refundable deposit shall be applied to any buyer and to each trailer being sold. The refundable deposit shall be a separate transaction from the purchase price, in the form of a cashier’s check made payable to Columbia Public Schools, sent to: Columbia Public Schools -Purchasing Department, 1818 W. Worley St., Columbia, MO 65203. The refundable deposit must be received by the District within 10 working days of the close of the bid or the item will be forfeited and resold. The check will be returned upon the following conditions being fully met:
1. Satisfactory removal of the trailer by the specified date.
2. Satisfactory removal of all materials, anchors, blocking, skirting and other debris resulting from the sale and as specified in the purchase agreement. The winning bidder will have to provide their own tires and wheels in order to move trailer. Trailer must be removed by a licensed professional trailer moving company (licensed transporter in the State of Missouri). Documentation of experience may be requested. Removal must occur between July 16th and July 31st, 2025. If removal is not completed by August 1, the asset will be deemed abandoned and all funds will be forfeited.
Furniture and all other items in trailer will be removed by Columbia Public Schools prior to sale of trailer. All electric will be disconnected to this trailer. Title to trailer (if available) will be provided to new owner. Responsibilities of the buyer are to cut anchors 6" below ground and all debris must be cleaned up and removed off school district site (cannot use school district dumpster). The purchaser further understands that the title to the property(s) will be held by Columbia Public Schools until all conditions are met and payment is received.
