Description

Up for auction is a vintage Rockwell Speedmatic Model 528 Type B 8-1/4 in. heavy-duty circular saw. This is a classic American-made professional-grade saw produced by Rockwell Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, PA, built on the well-regarded Porter-Cable "Speedmatic" helical (direct) drive design. Based on the "Rockwell Manufacturing Company" nameplate, the unit dates to approximately 1960–1973.

Specifications (per manufacturer's data plate):
• Blade size: 8-1/4 in.
• Motor: 115V AC/DC, 11 amp universal motor
• Rated speed: 7,000 RPM
• Arbor: 5/8 in.
• Approx. depth of cut: 2-7/8 in. at 90 degrees, 2-1/16 in. at 45 degrees
• Approx. weight: 16 lbs. (saw only)
• Model 528 Type B / Serial No. 61438 / Patent No. 2,861,607

Condition: Used. The saw shows cosmetic wear, surface oxidation, and sawdust/debris consistent with its age and prior use. Since being decommissioned, the saw has been confirmed to power on; it has not been further function-tested under load. The original Rockwell steel carrying case is included. Please note that the currently installed blade is an undersized 6-1/2 in. Black & Decker blade (not original/correct for this saw), and the power cord shows age-related wear. Item sold AS-IS.

Available for pick up only. Buyer will be responsible for pick up and transport of the item.

PAYMENT

SALES TAX

Removal

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 48 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of the close of the auction. For items that require ground/express shipping (e.g., FedEx, UPS), PCC will determine the shipping cost, package the item, generate the shipment, and arrange a pickup with the chosen carrier once payment is received. For all other items, the buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No assistance will be provided unless absolutely necessary. Bidders will be locked unless a prior arrangement has been made for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.
