Description

Up for auction is a Pfaff Model 545-H4-6/01 CLPMN single-needle industrial walking-foot sewing machine, bearing serial number 734870. The machine is mounted in a wooden worktable with a metal stand. The Pfaff 545 series uses a compound/unison feeding system and is designed for sewing medium-to-heavy materials such as upholstery fabric, leather, vinyl, canvas, and similar layered materials. Sewing machine originally manufactured in 1906.

Included are the Pfaff sewing-machine head, wooden worktable, metal stand, floor treadle, three-position thread stand, table-mounted bobbin winder, drive belts, push-button motor control, and thread cones or spools pictured. The machine is powered by a DOL12L clutch motor rated at 400 watts, 110/220 volts, 5.8/2.9 amps, 1,725 RPM, 60 Hz, and single phase. The motor has a 110/220-volt selector, a three-prong power plug, and a motor-mounted pulley cover. The push-button control enclosure is marked 220V–2.2 kW.

A limited operational check was performed. When connected to power, the ON and OFF buttons functioned, the motor energized with an audible hum, and pressing the floor treadle caused the drive system and needle mechanism to operate. The machine was not tested by completing a sewn seam; therefore, stitch formation, feeding performance, reverse operation, bobbin winding, tension adjustments, and overall sewing performance have not been independently verified.

The machine, table, and stand are in used condition with visible dust, loose thread, scratches, staining, finish wear, paint loss, and other signs of age and institutional use. The drive belts and table-mounted bobbin-winder assembly are present. Portions of the belt system remain exposed, and no needle or finger guard is visible. The presence and condition of the bobbin and bobbin-case components have not been confirmed. Only the equipment and accessories pictured are included.

Actual measurements are approximately 48 inches long by 21 inches wide by 30 inches high at the tabletop, or approximately 63 inches high to the top of the spool pole. Total measured weight is approximately 167 pounds.
