You are bidding on a REAL SILVER 1883 $1 coin minted in honor of the Hawaiian King Kalakaua!! This coin was a silver dollar coin minted for the Kingdom of Hawaii featuring King Kalākaua. Designed by Charles Barber and produced at the U.S. Mint in San Francisco, the coin was intended to boost national pride and provide the kingdom with its own circulating currency. The obverse shows a portrait of King Kalākaua, while the reverse features the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Hawaii and the inscription "UA MAU KE EA O KA AINA I KA PONO / 1 D / AKAHI DALA".
This coin, along with other denominations struck in 1883, was a significant effort to create a stable and distinct Hawaiian currency system. Many of the silver coins were later melted down after Hawaii became a U.S. territory, making high-grade examples scarce today.

Removal
Shipping IS available for this item. We offer both packing and shipping for items at the buyer's expense. Shipping is done through either the US Postal Service or UPS for smaller items and LTL truck freight for larger items. Shipping insurance is available (and recommended) at the buyer's expense. Due to an issue with a previous bidder, WE DO NOT ACCEPT SHIPPING LABELS (For smaller items) OR CUSTOMER ARRANGED FREIGHT (On larger items) FROM WINNING BIDDERS. If you require shipping, we will add shipping costs to your final invoice with GovDeals.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS IS CORRECT WITH GOVDEALS!! If it is not, YOU MUST CONTACT US to let us know where your item needs to be shipped to. We WILL NOT be responsible if you don't contact us and your item is shipped to an incorrect address.
