Winning bidder is responsible for: A bid deposit of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid must be paid within five business days after close of auction. The deposit of the bidder to whom the award is made will be held until the sale of the property is closed; if that bidder refuses at any time to close the sale, the deposit will be forfeited to the County.
Final payment and close of sale must be accomplished within 30 days after the board accepts a bid. Bidder is responsible for a 7.5% sales commission payable to Burke County and, all property surveys, deed preparation, and attorney and recording costs associated with the deed transfer.
