Condition: Fair
This lot consists of one (1) metal storage drum. The drum has been marked as being in fair condition due to evidence of prior use, cosmetic wear in the form of scratches, and the absence of the larger bung hole cover. Despite these signs of use, the drum appears structurally sound and suitable for reuse.
This drum was previously used to store industrial propylene glycol. The contents have since been emptied and the drum has been rinsed; however, prospective bidders should be aware that residual traces of propylene glycol may still be present within the container. Bidders should inspect and clean the drum as necessary prior to placing it into service.
A label identifying the former contents as industrial propylene glycol is present on the barrel and includes branding from Brenntag. Brenntag is a known chemical supplier and distributor and is believed to have supplied the glycol previously stored within the drum. No information was found confirming Brenntag as the manufacturer of the drum itself.
The drum features two (2) bung openings located on the top surface for filling and dispensing contents. One opening is larger and utilizes fine threads, while the second opening is smaller and utilizes coarse threads. The cover for the smaller bung opening remains installed; however, the cover for the larger bung opening is missing and is not included with this lot.
An additional identification label is present on the drum; however, the label has sustained damage and the majority of its center section is missing. Identical barrels in the same inventory were observed with a more complete version of this label. Based on those observations, the marking is believed to read:
"1A1/Y1.4/150 USA/M4377/23RL DOT-SP 2123"
This identification has not been independently verified and is provided for reference purposes only.
