District has limited knowledge about this unit, however the following is a summary of a narrative given by the subcontractor that installed the unit: It was installed in a new facility under construction around May of 2023, however, it set idle until it was started up on 10/17/2024 when construction was completing on the facility. During the start up (with LG rep present), electrical damage was discovered on the control case assembly. This assembly would need to be replaced before moving forward. The origins of the damage are unknown but were caused by an electrical charge – lightning as an example. The control assembly panel arrived on site and replacement was completed on 11/7 with the LG rep onsite and assisting. Directly after the install, startup of the VRF system was completed.

Follow up testing was performed the following day on 11/8/2024 in which the technician noted that the system was working properly in cooling with no issues. On 11/20/2024, LG came out to perform the final stage of the LG start up process, which involves the LG rep pulling data from the units to verify it is within expected parameters. When the LG rep pulled the data from the VRF system they found anomalies that were not expected. After quite a bit of assessment and troubleshooting, including involving engineers from LG, LG found that the most likely culprit was clogged valves in one of the inside units.

On 12/19/24 an LG technician was on site to pull the valves open to determine the cause of the clog. When the technician attempted this, they found that the valves were stuck and would need to be replaced. In January 2025, the system was removed from the building and replaced with a different system and is now being listed for auction after having been palletized and stored in a shipping container.

The District has no additional information on this system other than what can be observed in the attached pictures. Potential bidders are encouraged to come inspect the equipment prior to placing a bid. The system is palletized at this time and basic loading assistance can be offered provided a liability release is signed at pick up. By placing a bid, buyer agrees that the District has no liability to assist in loading, and if any is offered, will not hold the District or its employees for any damage that occurs from the assistance provided.
