Lot of Nine [9] Self Dump Hoppers
The self dumping hoppers are an extremely effective tool for manufacturing and construction customers and can be incorporated into the workflow of any number of industries. The Region utilized the self dumping hoppers to collect recyclables material from the sort rooms located within the Material Recycling Centre.

Dimensions: 3/16 sides, 3/16 bottom cage for 2 yards, 3 sides measure 30 inches high from the lip of the bin
Age: 2022 – Purchased 4 new, remainder of hoppers were purchased prior to 2018 (exact purchase date unknown)
Colour: Yellow
Date Removed from Service: March 2, 2024
Condition when removed from Service: Fully functional, minor rust and wear and tear
Maintenance Schedule (while in service): Maintenance and repair completed as necessary by internal forces
Damage: four (4) of nine (9) hoppers have damages to the cage (i.e. cage is bent, requires minor repair)
Reason for being Auctioned:
As of March 2, 2024 the Regional Municipality of Waterloo (Region) transferred the management of the residential blue box program to Circular Materials. This was done as part of the provincial framework where producers are fully responsible for the end-of-life of blue box materials. The Material Recycling Centre (MRC) located at the Waterloo Landfill Site (925 Erb Street West, Waterloo, ON N2J 3Z4) is now being utilized as a transfer station. As such, the Region is looking to complete the sale of the recycling processing equipment as it is no longer required for operation.
Non-Mandatory Bidders’ Meeting:
A non-mandatory site visit will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM for approximately one (1) hour. All attendees should have suitable PPE including at minimum a safety vest and steel toe boots. Meet at the Waterloo Landfill Administration Building, located at 925 Erb Street West, Waterloo, ON.

Access to the Waterloo Landfill Administration Building is through Gate 1 off Erb Street West.
