Decontamination, deep cleaning, and sanitization are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder.

Inspection Schedule

  • In-person inspections are highly encouraged and are available by appointment only.
  • To schedule an inspection, please submit a request through the platform's messaging feature at least 24 hours in advance. Inspections are conducted at our central facility.
  • Liability Waiver: The County assumes no responsibility for any personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred by bidders or their agents while conducting on-site inspections.

Logistics, Removal, & Site Rules

CRITICAL NOTICE TO ALL BIDDERS: The County is selling this vehicle AS-IS, WHERE-IS. The buyer assumes total responsibility for the asset at the moment of payment and is entirely responsible for all logistics, labor, and safety involved in its removal.

1. Scheduling & Coordination Requirement

  • The winning bidder must initiate contact and coordinate the pickup schedule exclusively by messaging through the GovDeals platform.
  • Telephone calls or direct emails will not be accepted for scheduling purposes. This ensures a transparent, timestamped record of communication within the platform.
  • Pickup appointments must be confirmed by County staff prior to your arrival. Unscheduled arrivals will be turned away.

2. Removal Deadline

  • The winning bidder must remove the vehicle within 10 business days of receiving the Buyer's Certificate.
  • Failure to remove the vehicle within this timeframe may result in storage fees or default of the auction win, at the County’s sole discretion.

3. Required Documentation at Pickup

To release the vehicle, the person picking up the asset must present:

  1. A printed copy of the GovDeals Buyer’s Certificate.
  2. A valid Government-Issued Photo ID.
  3. If a third-party transporter or agent is picking up the vehicle on your behalf, you must upload an Authorization of Release form through GovDeals prior to their arrival.

4. Absolute "No-Assistance" Policy

  • Labor & Tools: County personnel will not provide physical labor, mechanical assistance, tools, or diagnostic help.
  • Loading & Towing Equipment: The facility will not provide forklifts, jacks, ramps, or winches.
  • Site Rules:
  • The bidder must bring their own jump box, cables, and/or towing equipment, if the vehicle is documented as running and driving and it requires a jump box to start. If the vehicle fails to start for any reason at the time of pickup, the County is not responsible for making it operational, troubleshooting the issue, or providing a jump.
  • On-site mechanical repairs—other than swapping a battery or securing the vehicle for transport—are strictly prohibited in the county lot due to liability and safety regulations. If the vehicle cannot safely leave under its own power on day of pickup, it must be towed or trailered off the property by the buyer.

5. Indemnification & Hold Harmless (Release of Liability)

  • Property Damage & Mechanical Issues: The County is not liable for any mechanical issues, breakdowns, or structural damage that may occur to the vehicle, the buyer’s equipment, or third-party transport property during the loading or removal process.
  • Personal Injury & Health: The buyer explicitly agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the County, its officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or injuries (including death or health-related complications from exposure to potential biological or animal residues) sustained by the buyer, their employees, or their transport contractors during the inspection, loading, or removal of the asset. All removal activities are performed entirely at the buyer's own risk.
