What are the exact code/s the Mechanic read with his OBD-II scanner? For example: P013x–P016x: Oxygen (O₂) sensor circuit malfunctions. P0171 / P0174: System running too lean or too rich. P0300–P0306: Engine misfires. P0420: Catalyst efficiency below threshold (usually indicates an issue with the catalytic converter or an O₂ sensor). P0440–P0457: EVAP (Evaporative Emission) system leaks—very often caused by a loose or missing gas cap. 06/06/2026 01:47:09 AM
